I.D. Me Please

There are so many great ducks out on the pond right now. Here's a sampling of what we've got. Can you identify them all? I spy 6, one of which was new for my life list, so partly I'm wanting other birders to help me verify I've identified them correctly. You should be able to click on the images to enlarge them.

And I added 5 birds to my BIGBY list today.

Hmmm, Let me see...

There is a female Bufflehead in the top one, with a pair of Gadwall, and what's that- a Coot on the far side. The middle picture is a wonderful one of Ring-necked Ducks. I mean a really nice picture. Well done! The bottom one has the ubiquitous Mal-lard, American Widgeons, and more Ring-necked ducks.

Which one was your lifer?

Well done. I wasn't sure the bottom pic showed the Widgeons well enough. Gadwalls were my lifer. I may have seen them before, but never with an eye to identify them. Those three in the picture were the only thee on the pond. I was very excited to find them.

Thanks about the Ring-necked Duck picture. I think those are beautiful ducks.

That's a nice pond fulla ducks! 5 of those were also really recent additions to my lists . . how oddly parallel. I second the compliment on the RND photo, the color is amazing.

How about you adding the Hooded Merganser mere days after you said you'd never seen one! Perhaps my comment was a harbinger of sorts . .

No kidding. I was very excited about that. I am sure you mentioning it helped me spot it, because I was looking for it on some subconscious level.

I added quite a few birds yesterday, including the Double-crested Cormorant, another first for me.
