I've been enjoying images of the sky all over the world for a couple of weeks now, so I thought it was about time to jump on board. There is something incredibly powerful about shifting your gaze upward.
And you are very often rewarded by unexpected events. This Osprey just pulled a fish out of the nearby pond, and a few swallows felt the need to chase him off.
Check out other SkyWatch images. They are pretty amazing.

At least he got dinner. The others only get to pursue him. LOL Nice shot. I don't know how you managed to get them.

Wendy: That is a wonderful capture of the raptor.
Great capture! What kind of bird is it? Have a good weekend.
Great job! Glad you joined us.
It's an Osprey.
We watch osprey fishing over Useless Bay and Deer Lagoon when we go to Whidbey Island. Skim my sight to see what I'm talking about.
Of course, here in Seattle we call them SEAHAWKS!
We have several osprey nests near our cabin on Powell Lake. One day I watched an osprey search for a fish and then plummet into the water to catch his prey. It was quite a sight.
My pictures are of a mackerel sky before the storm. I invite you to come see. - Margy
Great shot this is my first sky watch to.
Fabulous SkyWatch Photos! Well done! Such beautiful colors! Great shots!
Cool pic Wendy! I've never heard of SkyWatch, but I'm going to check it out today.
What a great photo! The osprey's clever catch captured forever!
Corey, thanks. I think you'd like SkyWatch.
Dj - and it was fantastic to watch it happen!
I love eagles, especially ospreys. It's often amazing how an ant can shoo away an elephant. Seldom one gets the chance to snap them leaving the local take-away. Well done!
Welcome to skywatch! I'm relatively new to it myself, but I've become addicted very quickly. Thanks for stopping by and for all your nice comments.
This is a great photo, I love that you caught the osprey on camera just as he caught the fish (though with a happier outcome for the subject).
