Spotted Sandpiper

It was a rare treat to have one of these stop by for a few hours earlier this summer. Shore birds don't generally find our little pond in the middle of the mountains. There are two very large reservoirs both north and south of here, so I imagine it was just passing through on its way to or from one of them. I'm glad it stopped.

Good discovery.
I found my first Sandpiper last Sunday, supposed to be Common Sandpiper, but not common here.
