American Goldfinch
Sometimes winter plumage really throws me off on some birds. The Goldfinches are one of those. I spent quite a while trying to decide if this was a Lesser or American. I don't know that I've ever actually seen a Lesser, so part of me was trying to make it one, I think.Check out this link for other bird photography.

I also think it's an American Goldfinch, Wendy. Good shot!
Ha! I go through the same, except I keep trying to find an American Goldfinch and not a Lesser!
Great photo - but I'm glad we don't get the snow around here! *sigh* only cyclones!
Beautiful photo of a very pretty bird!
Nice photo Wendy! We still have a good bit of snow on the ground, but the ice on the cove is starting to break up. :)
Nice shot Wendy! Our snow is gone now too and the goldfinch feeder has been busy. The males are becoming bright yellow again :)
Great goldfinch picture! All of our snow is gone and the goldfinches are turning more yellow each day.
Nice capture of the American Goldfinch Wendy. I too love Goldfinches and like Red am always looking for the American. We have lots of Lesser Goldfinches but don't see that many Americans in my yard.
