Photo A Day - July 11

I took a walk along a recently built trail, and was so happy to see that in addition to the plethora of thistle growing on the fringes, there was also an abundance of Showy Milkweed.

Butterflies, especially Monarch Butterflies, love and even depend on these plants. I am so glad they are here to provide not only beauty, but life and security. And a promise of tomorrow.

Hi Wendy, I love your photo a day blogs and the whole idea of it. I am also a lazy summer blogger - there are just too many other things to keep up with! I've been trying to keep up with Bird Photography Weekly though - have you had any good birding lately?

Milkweed is one of my favorites! May we all have such a promise of security and a sense of tomorrow....

I haven't had any good birding trips lately. I need to though. It keeps me happy.
