Herb Walk

I've never really been big into herbs, or finding plants (other than berries) that are edible or medicinal, in nature. But a few weeks ago I had the opportunity to go on a tour of my park to find some of the medicinal plants that live there. And I was amazed.

I learned some new plants, and found out some new, very helpful uses of others. The one that comes to my mind the most is Yarrow.

Its a pretty little flower who's leaves you can eat (though I'm told they are a bit bitter), and if you crush the little, fragrant leaf up in your fingers, you can rub them on bug bites, and it helps take the itch and sting out. Wonderful. Who doesn't get bit or stung by something while out enjoying nature. Now we can all use nature to help alleviate that.
