Bird Photography Weekly
Three Wilson's Phalaropes showed up at the visitor center pond earlier this spring. We aren't really a hot spot for shorebirds, but on occasion one or two find themselves off course, and take refuge for a few hours to a few days here at the pond.
The Phalaropes didn't stay long. I was glad I was in the right place at the right time to see them darting around the edge of the pond, snatching up tiny little morsels of food.
I wonder what else might show up this fall/winter. Some of our ducks, including American Wigeons , Ring-necked Ducks, and a Gadwall or two are back. It's nice to see them again.

Interesting collection of birds - it's always interesting to see what shows up unexpectedly.
