It seems I've got a thing for sunsets lately. I love this sky. I was just heading out the door, on my way home from work, and this is the scene that met me. So I stuck around a little longer, enjoying the sunset, and the shifting clouds.
Even though pictures are nice, they generally don't do natural beauty justice. So get out there and enjoy some natural beauty. And then come back inside and explore the sky all over the world by visiting SkyWatch. You won't be disappointed.

You're right, photos never do justice to the reality in and of themselves, but they can trigger a memory of beauty that's as strong as the original.
this is definitely an oooh and ahhh moment just looking at your beautiful shot.
beautiful photo! great colors!
Wonderful! The color is fantastic, but I also love the way the clouds "poke" down on the bottom! Terrific capture.

Interesting thing tonight I looked out the window while doing dishes and saw the same sky which stopped me in my task. I had to go outside and just stare at that beautiful sky..nothing like an autumn sky and one that is at HOME because I have been looking at far away skies while vacationing in Europe last month!
A great pic., with the pink clouds running like wet paint. Very different sky.
That's unreal. Very nice photo. No Photoshop?
Are you kidding? I don't have photoshop. :)
Thanks everyone.
That's a gorgeous sky , with beautiful whispy pink clouds!

Simply stunning, who needs photoshop when nature turns on these magical displays for us all to enjoy, if we take the time to appreciate them.
Thanks for sharing this photo with us all. Gosh, i keep looking back at it and thinking it would be a great screen saver or wall poster.
That is a beautiful shot. Love the snow tipped mountains.
Wow. I could look at that sky forever. No wonder you hung around for while!!!
