Mourning DoveJust sitting out on my front porch, enjoying the day, this fella came along and just hung around the edge of my yard. I love their mournful cry, and am happy to share my space with them.

I find their calls very peaceful and soothing too. Always a beautiful bird to study and enjoy.

I know some people who hate their coos (go figger). But to me it is a comforting sound, and I welcome them at my feeders. Their innocence slows me down.
Love mourning doves. We often have them sitting on the back fence in early morning and late evening. Drives the (indoors only) cats crazy, but I love to listen to their peaceful coos at the end of a crazy, stressful day.
These lovely doves are a frequent visitor to my back yard. I always enjoy seeing and hearing them.
