Bird Photography Weekly

Last summer I found a little lake near my home that had been there forever, I was just too absorbed in other things to pay any attention to it's existence. I'm glad I finally woke up one day, and went in search of it because I've found many wonderful, beautiful birds, fish, and interesting people there.

One of my favorite birds is the Cinnamon Teal. Partly because I see it only occasionally, and partly because it's color is so tasty.

There is no particular story with this bird. Just one of my favorites, seen at a nice close, favorite spot.

Visit Bird Photography Weekly to view other birds or take part in sharing some of your own.

That sounds like a nice lake and definitely a nice bird to have around any time.

Hey Wendy it's nice to get out into nature whenever we can isn't it? Especially when you can find a great spot like that near your house.

Those Cinnamon Teals sure have the color going on don't they? We were lucky enough to see some this weekend at the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge. What gorgeous birds!

Such great color. Just saw my first last week in Texas and think I liked them better than several of the area specialties.

Cinnamon Teal...sounds like something I'd like to have for breakfast!:D yummm. I know what you mean about "discovering" this little lake. I have a retention pond near my house where I started walking my dog last spring and saw some amazing water birds during migration.

I had first heard of one a few months ago and didn't get the big deal until I saw one for myself. Amazing coloring that guidebooks just don't capture!

I love the description of its color as "tasty." You really can taste beauty sometimes; it's not just limited to one sense at a time!

Ooooo, I haven't seen one of these in years. The color looks exactly like cinnamon sugar sprinkled over hot buttered toast. Talk about tasty!
