Bird Photography Weekly
These were taken during the Backyard Bird Count. The reason I put suet feeders up in the first place was to attract some Northern Flickers. But the only things that had been coming to consume the suet had been Magpies. Then a Chickadee or two nibbled on them. A couple of Stellar's Jays stopped buy - that was fun.

I know what its like to wait for birds to come to your feeder. I`m glad you got your target species.
Great pictures of the flicker! I had hoped to see one at my feeder all year, but have not had any luck.
Both are great photos but the second one is extra special.
Wonderful captures, Wendy! That flicker blends in so well in the first shot; without the reddish tail and the slight blush on the face, it would have been very hard to find him at all.
