Checking out the Trail

Last week my boss asked me to take a walk along one of the trails to see if and to what extent the trail and bridges had been damaged by the ever increasing spring run-off.

I was happy to oblige.

Here's the river. It's gone up quite a bit since I took this.

My mission was off to a good start...

And then...
 Arrowleaf Balsam Root

 Broad Tailed Hummingbird

... I got distracted.

Waterleaf

Okay, back to the task at hand.

This bridge is holding up quite well.

Ohh, look at that.

Golden Current. Can't wait for autumn when I can sample this lovely berry.

Even the little flies are out basking in the sun, enjoying this lovely weather.

Okay, back to work!

The river is getting pretty close to eroding the side of this hill where our trail is located.

This bridge may need to be adjusted. I'm sure it's much more inundated by now.

Wow, that's pretty!

 Larkspur

Little Fence lizard hiding out in the shadows.

Beautiful creeping Oregon Grape

Man, I love my job!
